A trip to see the Black-throated Thrush without the crowds (only 4 of us at one stage) at Newholm. The bird showed well on several occasions in the garden of no5 which is just as well it did because if it was only being seen at range then it wouldn't have been visible through the gloom! also Marsh Tits, Bullfinches and Coal Tits at the feeders.
On the way home called in at Holbeck Car park at Scarborough to share my Sarnies with the Med Gulls of which 3 were present, 2 ads and a 2W. A Peregrine shot through too.
Then we had a fruitless search for the Glauc Gull that had been seen on the beach at Hornsea for the past couple of days....a brief seawatch here yeilded 2
Eiders N, several Guillemots S and several GC Grebes and R-T Divers loafing.
A half decent haul considering the dull and drizzly conditions.

Regards
